Why ‘Current’ income has become so critical in this economy

Entrepreneurs. Trends are changing and one of the greatest lessons I can give to you is to stay ahead of trends and adapt as fast as you can to stay profitable

A few years back before the economic crisis really began to weigh down on people, the emphasis and main selling point of many internet and home based businesses was the promise of ‘residual‘ income. You know what I mean right? Build and spend capital in the short run and you’ll reap the rewards in the long run with override commissions, bonuses etc

But as we brace ourselves for the onslaught of the damp economic climate still ahead, the sentiment amongst many entrepreneurs and potential entrepreneurs is leaning heavily towards a ‘current‘ income to supplement a decline in their overall household income. And this includes mlm, direct marketing and small business owners

Given this element of immediacy, there is a great need to address a growing demand in the market place for ‘current’, disposable income, as families are dealing with a reduced household income

More People Seeking $

Huge waves of regular 9 to 5 working people scathed and beaten by the economic downturn are on a hunt for entrepreneurial, home based business opportunities to generate a new source of income. Hundreds of thousands swarm the internet weekly in search of a way to bring in extra cash as they face with very tight budgets constraints due to layoffs, slow downs and cuts in salaries

As economics would dictate; with the growing demand, more and more new business opportunities are popping up. Some worthy of mention but many are ‘fly by night’ operations guaranteed to flop within a year. Many unsuspecting new entrepreneurs get sucked into these schemes by the promise of generating immediate profits. So there will be harsh lessons to learn

So what would it take these new entrepreneurs to win in the current economic climate? It would take learning new skills and methods of marketing to give entrepreneurs the winning edge in 2009. The old school of network marketing has become an obsolete dinosaur, yet many companies still teach their distributors only these methods.

And we still have veteran network marketers and small businesses, struggling, not only with a changing market place because of new technology; but we now have a new, bigger wave of entrepreneurs solely driven by the growing need to generate ‘current’ income. They need income coming in right now in the short run to supplement their household

Serious and seasoned businesses will have to take a closer look at their compensation plans and address the need to deliver higher ‘current’ incomes to be able to attract more new business builders into their organizations. And we are seeing a trend towards, more upfront, immediate incentives to stay competitive from network marketing companies

Profiting in the downturn

2009 and 2010 will be a steep learning curve for many entrepreneurs and internet marketers as they make tough and tougher decisions to stay profitable. New entrepreneurs with very little capital are on a hunt to find businesses where the financial rewards in the short run outweigh the cost of doing business.

Without doubt there is money to be made. This economic downturn is not the time to curl up and wait out the storm at all. This is the time when great profits could be made but you the entrepreneur need to make smart decisions and also swift decisions if you intend to grab a share of the market and the profits. Look for business models and product/services which are commanding the spending today and quickly adapt. Time is of the essence.

I caution you to stay away from the ‘fly by night‘ operations. Let good sense prevail. Do a little homework and due diligence but don’t sit on the fence too long, you may just miss some very profitable income flows.
